Hello! My name is Katie Canterbury. I started running six years ago.

In high school I was always the girl that would rather be curled up with a good book than outside doing… anything. Haha! I did walk a lot while hanging out with friends, though, and my mom always kept really healthy food in the house since her dad was a diabetic, and she didn’t want her children to have the same health issues.

After I graduated high school and started working full time and I was able to go out to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted I gained about 20lbs in six months or so.

So, in the spring of 2013 I stood in front of the mirror and hated how I looked. I decided that I needed to make a change and I thought to myself “fit people run… right?”

So I decided to do a 5k, downloaded a couch to 5k app, and started running.
