This has been on my mind lately, and I just felt the need to share it: I think the trouble with 20-somethings is that we spent the majority of our lives thinking that once we reached this age we'd have our crap together and be an adult. We thought we'd have the job, the apartment and the boy/girlfriend. Then we reached this age and realized that we have no idea what the hell we're doing. And we look at the Instagram and FaceBook posts from our peers and compare our lowlights to their highlights. We assume - based on their vacation/engagement/graduation pics - that they have it all together, when the reality is that no one has their life together at 20, 21, 22, etc. Anyone that tells you they do is lying. We're all equally messy in different ways at this age. What we need to do is let go of this idea of neatness in our twenties, and embrace the mess. 2015 had some of the hardest, messiest, poorest moments of my life, and it also had some of the most amazing, proudest, crazy highs of my life. As Letters to Juliette says, "life is the messy bits." So in Miss Frizzle's words, "take chances, make mistakes, get messy!"
